William R. (Bill) Harris : President : Techvision Consulting
A seasoned, well respected industry expert in Enterprise, Operating System Architecture and mixed environment solutions. A dynamic evangelist in more than 80 product launches, conferences and world class events including international symposia. A technical manager who has directed IT Operations, Software Development as well as Server/Personal Computer Product and Marketing Management teams. A highly motivated, conscientious team player with outstanding communications, interpersonal and relationships building skills. He concluded numerous competitive wins by identifying and positioning the best-in-class solutions for customers strategically as a Business Development Manager. Consistently overachieved revenue and margin targets.
In 1980 Harris joined Digital Equipment of Canada. Bill gained additional experience and knowledge in numerous positions ranging from MIS Operations manager, and then MIS Systems Development Manager. He then managed the Canadian Customer Support Centre. At that point he entered the marketing ranks and had multiple assignments such as Enterprise Marketing Manager for Digital's Personal Computing business.
After the Compaq/Digital acquisition Bill accepted the position of Group Manager for the Commercial PC business. His final assignments were as Eastern Canadian Alpha Sales Manager and Storage Product & Business Manager. During his time at Digital/Compaq Bill won 5 Sales Excellence awards and was recognized with the Canadian Marketing Achievement Award.
Harris broadened his channel knowledge with two years with Avnet Computer Marketing where he was the Business Development Manager. He is the President and Founder of TechVision Consulting.
